Agrochemicals use | Support for Responsible Sourcing in Mexico

× CLARIFYING NOTE

The Project promotes an strict observation of the Pesticide Action Network recommendations, which go well beyond minimum legal requirements of agrochemical applications in Mexico. It is always challenging to support farmers in their transition to low-impact agrochemicals due to multiple factors and the challenge is different in each region, considering availability and cost of alternatives. In Guanajuato it has been observed a full adoption of good practices at this regard for seed treatment purposes, but more work needs to be done with regards to chemicals utilized for pest and weed control. Available data in particular from the cycle PV20 was deemed too narrow to make more general assumptions.
